STUDIO ILLUMINATED SIGNS
A range of attractive illuminated signs, which, though designed by Canford especially for studio installations, will readily suit other applications such as meeting rooms. They are designed so that even when fitted in corridors, it is clear from all viewing angles when the sign is illuminated. These fixed luminaires, for wall-mounted, internal use, feature a black polycarbonate base unit, which incorporates fixing holes to suit UK (BS 4662), Europe (DIN) and American flush electrical boxes, plus UK surface conduit boxes - thus allowing straightfoward wiring installation by builders and electricians. Fixing holes also allow screw fixing to other surfaces.
Covers are translucent polycarbonate, and snap fit over the bases, no tools are required for removal. They are available printed with the most popular legends, but are also available unprinted. Other printed legends are available to special order, price by quotation according to quantity required.
Type A
A two-part push-fit screw terminal is provided for connection to fixed mains wiring (with the lamp-holder assembly unplugged and laid aside). Two lamp-holders are fitted (wired in parallel) either BC (B22 bayonet) or ES (E27 screw) fitting. In the event of one lamp failing, the other will remain illuminated. Maximum lamp rating 25 watts per holder. 25 watt 45mm opal/frosted round lamps are recommended for use in this unit, lamps are included. Spare lamps also available.
Type B
As type A but with the addition of mains switching facilities. The lamp-holder assembly is fitted with an opto-coupled, zero crossing mains switch module. Control is achieved by closing contacts (or by reducing the voltage across the contacts to below 3 VDC), which are accessed via a two part connector (supplied).

If both pins 2 and 3 are connected to pin 1 the ‘flash’ condition will override the continuous ‘on’ condition. Two flash rates and three duty cycle settings are available for selection internally.
