It is often neccessary to fit BNC connectors in drilled, rather than punched, holes, without the anti-rotation flats that a punching tool would provide. Tightening up the locking ring becomes a painful experience as the bayonet pins on the connector are the only protrusions from the smooth barrel of the socket, yet also show an aptitude for removing skin from the fingers as they spin in the unfortunate assembler’s hand! Our own assembly department had suffered from the inconvenience of fitting BNC’s in constricted spaces for some years before their supervisor came up with this ingenious device. Turned from mild steel, and bright nickel plated with a diamond knurl, this hand tool has slots which fit snugly over the connector bayonet pins to provide sufficient torque for tightening the fixing nut, without damage to the connector (or fingers).
