A professional, hand-held, analogue-audio signal-analyser, with built-in microphone, balanced and unbalanced line inputs, 100 x 64 pixel back-lit LCD display and simple, menu, control buttons.

The display-screen shows menu options and measurement values, with either large-scale numerical read-out or graphic display (including frequency-response and oscilloscope). Auto-ranging algorithms provide fast, accurate readings, with a minimum of menu selections for rapid testing and analysis. A 3.5mm headphone jack-socket is also provided, for aural monitoring. Minilyser can be used with the NTI Audio Minirator or other signal sources, such as Canford “Quick Check” test media. Battery-powered (3 x AA dry or NiCd), with over 16 hours continuous use (typical) from alkaline batteries. A carrying pouch is also available.

Technical Specification:

Input connectors: Balanced XLR, unbalanced RCA (phono)
Frequency range: 20-20,000 Hz, resolution 0.1%
Level range (dBu or dBV): +20 to –95 dBu balanced; +14 to –95 dBu unbalanced
Level range (V RMS or V peak): 4 digits, max 7.75 V RMS (balanced input)
Resolution 0.1dB/±0.5%
PPM/VU range: Dual linear bar as PPM Type 1, IIA, Nordic, VU
Signal balance: Deviation from balance shown in % or dB (0 to –60)
Distortion range: –99.9 to 0dB THD, 10-20,000 Hz; residual THD+N <–85 dB(0.005%) at 0dBu, unweighted
Polarity function: Built-in microphone input
Oscilloscope: Auto-ranging, scaling and triggering
Filters: Unweighted; A and C weighting; high-pass 22, 60 or 400 Hz; band-pass 300-3,000 Hz
Dimensions: 163 x 86 x 45 (w x h x d ) mm
Weight: 300 g, including batteries

An upgrade kit is available to provide PC connectivity and data storage via USB for NTI Audio (formerly Neutrik) Minilyser and Digilyser. The kit includes a plug-in board, replacement battery covers, USB cable and software CD-ROM. See NTI AUDIO MINILINK.

The MiniSPL is a 1/2” omni-directional pre-polarized condenser microphone that can be used in conjunction with the Minilyser to form a comprehensive integrating sound level meter. It is battery powered.

Technical Specification:

Microphone type: 1/2”, omni-directional, pre-polarized condenser, free field transducer
Sensitivity: (20±2) mV/Pa, (-34±1) dBV/PA @ 1kHz, balanced out
Frequency response: 100Hz - 1250Hz ±1.5dB
20Hz - 20kHz ±3dB
Peak acoustic input: 130dB SPL @ 1kHz
Noise: 30 dB SPL, A-weighted
Output impedance: 200 ohm (XLR balanced)
Power supply: 1 x AA size 1.5V battery, lifetime typically 300 hours
No phantom power required, phantom power resistant

NTI Audio text instrument calibration certificates, where available, are issued by the factory in Liechtenstein, thus avoiding out-of-date certificates being shipped with items held in stock in the UK. Canford also offer NTI Audio instruments without certificates, for those who do not require them, reducing delivery time and cost. Where certificates are available, the instruments are listed twice, with or without certificates. Where instruments can be provided with calibration certificates at a later date, this service is also listed separately. The instrument should be shipped to Canford, where despatch to and return from the factory will be arranged. Please contact Canford Customer Services for an RMA number.
