RODE SHOTGUN MICROPHONES
A range of affordable short and full length shotgun microphones and complementary accessories, suitable for broadcast video and theatre applications. The range includes some entry-level companions for many camcorders, and higher performance models, popular with broadcasters.
Rode VideoMic
Designed for use with video camcorders, the VideoMic uses a true externally-polarised capsule and features a tough ABS construction. An integrated suspension-mount provides a very high level of mechanical isolation, eliminating virtually all motor noise, while a cold-shoe fitting is included to ensure fast, easy camcorder mounting. The windshield reduces unwanted wind noise, pad switches allow -10 and -20dB attenuation and a switched high-pass filter gives the flexibility to record in most environments.
The VideoMic has a stereo mic level output and a single PP3 battery provides 100 hours of continuous operation. The captive cable terminates in a convenient right-angled 3.5mm 3-pole jack plug and is unobtrusive to camcorder operation when connected.

Rode VideoMic Pro
Similar to the standard VideoMic, the Pro version offers the same circuitry and functions as standard, but in a much more compact and lightweight profile. A PP3 battery provides 70 hours of continuous operation. Length 150mm. Weight 85g.

Rode NTG-1 and NTG-2
Lightweight short shotgun microphones featuring true externally-polarised condenser capsules. A wide bandwidth and controlled polar response, coupled with low-noise electronics, delivers excellent results for film and broadcast video applications. The NTG-1 is 48V phantom powered, with integral switchable HP filter. The NTG-2 has the same specifications as the NTG-1, but with the added flexibility of battery powering (via a single 1.5V AA cell) as well as standard 48V phantom power. Both have XLR-3 connectors.

Rode NTG-3
Precision shotgun microphone featuring true externally RF-biased condenser capsules, which make the NTG-3 'almost completely resistant to moisture', a positive bonus when recording in adverse, condensation-rich environments. A wide bandwidth and more controlled polar response than the NTG-1 and NTG-2, coupled with low-noise electronics, and increased output, delivers excellent results for location film and broadcast video applications, the microphone boasts '50% less self-noise than the majority of shotgun microphones'. The NTG-3 is 48V phantom powered (44-52V, minimum 5mA), with a 3-pin XLR connector.

Accessories for Rode Shotgun Microphones
PG1, PG2 Pistol Grips
Allows addition of a hand-grip to a microphone. PG1 has a 'cold' accessory-shoe fitting to allow microphones such as the VideoMic, VideoMic Pro and Stereo VideoMic to be mounted onto it. PG2 has an inter-changeable, elastic suspension mount that holds the microphone in isolation from the grip. Fits 19-20mm or 21-22.5mm diameter microphones, such as the NTG-1, NTG-2 or NTG-3. Both grips contain integral cable management allowing easy, tidy handling of microphones and 3/8 inch threads in the base allowing attachment to a boompole.
WS6, WS7 Deluxe windshields
Deluxe, furry windshields designed to reduce wind noise when recording in adverse environmental conditions. WS6 fits a shotgun microphone with maximum slot length of 160mm and diameter 21-22.5mm. Suitable for NTG-1 and NTG-2 models. WS7 fits a shotgun microphone with maximum slot length of 186.5mm and diameter 19-20mm. Suitable for NTG-3 model.
'Blimp' Shockmount Suspension Basket Windshield
A complete basket-windshield and shockmounting pistol-grip, accessory kit for shotgun microphones of up to 325mm in length. Winner of a 2009 Red Dot Award and Australian International Design Award for outstanding product design, it greatly reduces wind and handling noise by adjustable, dual hoop suspensions. Comes complete with 'Dead Wombat' furry basket windshield cover and a cable 'tail' allowing connection to microphone cable via the built-in pistol-grip. Suitable for use with NTG-1, NTG-2 and NTG-3 models.
Deadcat Wind-cover
Used in conjunction with the standard foam windshield supplied with the VideoMic, NTG-1, NTG-2 and NTG-3 models. Provides extra attenuation of external wind noise in demanding outdoor environments.
Deadcat VMP Wind-cover
Used in conjunction with the standard foam windshield supplied with the VideoMic Pro model. Provides extra attenuation of external wind noise in demanding outdoor environments.
Rycote Mini Windjammer for Video Mic Pro
Produced by the experts in wind-noise reduction themselves, specifically for this model of microphone, this provides up to 20dB extra attenuation of external wind noise in demanding outdoor environments to the expected Rycote standard.
Tripod
Table-top alloy tripod stand with folding legs and a ball and socket joint, allowing precise angling of the VideoMic. 3/8 inch thread.
VXLR Adapter
3.5mm jack socket to male XLR, allowing the VideoMic to feed into cameras with XLR inputs.
VC1 Extension cable
3.5mm 3-pole jack plug to socket, for VideoMic, 3 metres length.
NTSM3, NTSM4, NTSM5 Elastic suspension mounts
For use with NTG-1, NTG-2 and NTG-3. NTSM3 has a 'cold' accessory-shoe fitting with integrated 3/8 inch thread. NTSM4 has a standard 5/8 inch thread and is supplied with a 3/8 inch adapter. NTSM5 has a dummy microphone fitting suitable for mounting in the microphone clamp holder found on many broadcast cameras including PD170 and FX1.
Boompole
A light-weight, telescopic, five-section, alloy, boompole; balanced for easy handling. Extended length 3 metres. 3/8 inch thread.
