Minimum order value
There is a minimum order value of £35.00, excluding the carriage and packing charge, and VAT. The website will display a message when the minimum value has not been reached, with an option to add to the order. Alternatively, an administration charge will be added to bring the order value up to the minimum order value.
Written confirmation of telephone or web orders must be clearly marked "Confirmation", otherwise we can accept no responsibility for duplication of the order. In the event of such duplication, goods will be accepted back for credit providing that the product is unmarked and packaging unopened, a 15% handling charge (minimum £20.00) will be made.
Orders for stock items can usually be cancelled without charge if the goods have not been despatched. If despatch has been made, carriage and handling charges will be incurred. Cancellation of orders for non-stock items (which will be identified at the point of order in the price line) will normally incur charges. Non-stock items cannot usually be returned for credit, unless the original supplier will accept their return.
Canford Audio supplies quality products direct to professional users and trade clients on a "business-to-business" basis. Canford Audio does not provide a retail service to private individuals.
Canford despatch goods Monday to Friday only. There are no despatches on English public holidays.
Orders placed before 17:00 GMT (15:30 for European orders) are processed the same day. The website provides stock availability and estimated lead time information when placing the order. When any part of an order is not immediately available, the order will be held and despatched as a single shipment. If an immediate, split shipment is required, please contact the sales department (an additional charge may be payable).
We can usually accept orders for next day delivery until 16:00 GMT. However some bulky items are despatched with a large consignment specialist and have an earlier cut-off time which is shown on the product page. If your order is urgent, please contact our sales office.
Canford currently exports to around 185 different countries worldwide so throughout the 40+ years of the company’s existence we have gained a vast knowledge of export procedures and we pride ourselves on our expertise and unique level of service. For the United Kingdom mainland, a choice of services is available. The charge is according to the service chosen, regardless of the size or weight of the consignment. Standard service carriage and packing is free for all orders where the value of the goods ordered is £100.00 or more (excluding VAT). UPS and TNT are our preferred carriers, plus Royal Mail for small packets.

For deliveries to Northern Ireland, Scottish islands, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, the charge is fixed, regardless of the size, weight or value of the consignment. This service charge covers packing, despatch and carriage of goods.
UPS and TNT are our preferred carriers, plus Royal Mail for small packets and Palletline for pallets. UPS Express Saver is normally used for the Standard service, normally offering "next day" or "next day +1" delivery (please check with the sales team for service details for your delivery location).

For deliveries to Europe (EU, Liechtenstein, Norway & Switzerland) a choice of services are available. The charges for standard European services are fixed*, regardless of the size or weight of the consignment.
All deliveries are on a CPT (Carriage Paid To) basis according to Incoterms® 2020. Prices for express services will be quoted on request. If insurance is required, please advise accordingly and we will be very happy to quote costs to include insurance.

Prices are ex-works Washington. Carriage and insurance will be quoted on request. We reserve the right to implement a documentation charge where appropriate. EUR1, certificates of origin and legalised documents are chargeable.
As a guide, freight costs for international shipments start at £9.75 for untraced parcel post on orders under 2kg.
A special economy rate is available for Sound Effects discs shipped outside the UK and EU area. For any quantity of discs, the charge for postal (non-priority) shipment is £10.00. This rate is only available for orders for Sound Effects discs, other products cannot be included.
If you need to return any items to Canford for any reason, please first contact the Customer Services
department for further instructions. A returns number will be issued, which must be shown clearly on the outer packaging. Take great care to ensure that the products are packed adequately for their return journey and are insured, you will be responsible for any damage in transit. Address labels must not be put directly on product packaging, an outer wrapping or larger box must always be used. Credit will not be given if the items have been used. Items supplied correctly in accordance with your order will be subject to carriage and handling charges, a 15% handling charge (minimum £20.00) will be made.
Credit accounts are available to established businesses and local authorities subject to minimal formalities effective with the first order. For UK customers, this can usually be arranged the same day. International credit accounts require longer for checks to be made, typically 1-2 weeks. Occasionally payment is requested against a pro-forma invoice.
Shipments made in instalments will be invoiced accordingly, and must be paid when due. All invoices must be paid by the 14th of the month following month of invoice. We reserve the right to withhold supplies to clients with overdue accounts.

Credit cards and payment cards
Canford accepts Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit (Maestro) and American Express, which allows same day despatch for clients without credit accounts.
All prices shown are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the rate ruling at date of despatch. We reserve the right to alter prices if necessary, due to external factors, though in these circumstances, the new price will be notified at the receipt or order. Goods will be invoiced at the price ruling at date of despatch. If ordering using rapid order facilities, no liability can be accepted for use of an outdated printed brochure.
Sales tax (VAT)
For a Canford customer being invoiced to the following countries:
Standard VAT rate, typically 20% will be applied to the order. No VAT registration number is required to place an order.
VAT will not be charged if a valid tax registration number is provided during the ordering process. In this case, the buyer will then become liable for VAT on receipt of the goods.
If no VAT number is provided, standard UK VAT will be applied to the order.
Rest of the world
VAT will not be charged. Import duties and fees may be payable by the importer of the goods.
