A range of tight buffered multicore, multimode breakout fibre cables suitable for fixed indoor or outdoor installation in cable trays or ducts. They may be used for touring, outside broadcast and temporary installations if a highly flexible or fully rugged cable is not required however they are not longitudinally watertight. The fibres are a graded-index multi mode type optimised for 10Gbit/s transmission speeds. The individual fibres have a 50um core and a 125um cladding diameter. The fibre is designed for use at 850nm, but can also be used at 1300nm and is compliant with all relevant network standards. Individual fibre jackets are 2.0mm diameter, outer sheaths are 7.5mm (4 fibre), 10mm (8 fibre) and 12.5mm (12 fibre).

The universal indoor/outdoor design gives the option to use a single cable-run between equipment in different buildings, avoiding the need, and cost, of splicing indoor to outdoor cables. All types are halogen free (FRNC/LS0H) and meet horizontal and vertical installation fire safety requirements. All cables have a predicted life of more than 30 years.
