The PMR4000RMKII is a 1U rackmount network media player with integrated FM RDS tuner, internet radio, UPnP and USB media player. It is intended for commercial audio and smart home installations where it may be desirable to play music from network attached storage (NAS) devices, internet radio stations, FM tuner or USB pen drive. It may be suitable for applications such as background music in restaurants, hotels, theme parks and workplaces.

The system accepts USB pen drives of up to 128GB capacity and is compatible with MP3, WMA, FLAC and WAV audio files. The PMR400RMKII utilises universal plug and play (UPnP) network protocols, a simple menu structure and set-up wizard which aid system configuration and provide for intuitive operation. Network connection is via ethernet RJ45 and 2.4G or 5G Wi-Fi with compatible wireless router. The unit can be controlled via iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or any Android device by downloading the official app.

Analogue output is via unbalanced RCA phono sockets and arear-mounted control-knob sets the maximum output level, enabling the contractor to configure and balance the output with other system components. A secondary digital output from the media player, network and internet radio is available via optical (Toslink) socket.
