SONY DMX-P01 PORTABLE DIGITAL MIXER

A portable digital mixer for high quality location recording. With four inputs, stereo outputs, 24-bit, 48/96kHz sample-rate converters and 32-bit digital signal processing, the mixer offers high quality digital audio as well as easily accessible controls and quick-recall memory settings.

Each channel has a mic/line input with XLR connector, switchable 48V phantom power, low-pass filter, gain, pan and rotary level-controls. There are individual output level controls and input and output stereo-linking is also provided. The monitor section includes monitor function selector, level control, and an LCD level meter. This doubles as a menu display screen to obtain functions including input and output digital compressor/limiters and level meter law (VU, BBC, DIN and Nordic PPM, dBFS). The use of digital technology allows practical features not available to an analogue mixer, including three instant-recall set-ups, ten scene memories, six meter types, and a control-lock function, for added security, which can be used to secure all or selected individual controls.

Whilst set-up options are accessed through a menu, all essential controls are available directly, with detented output knobs for accurate level control and a layout that will be familiar to users of traditional location mixers. The mixer also provides M-S encoding and decoding and has a 12-pole Tajimi camera connector; the camera return input has an automatic level adjustment facility. Other facilities include digital cascade input and output to link mixers for larger projects, slate/talkback microphone and built-in oscillator. The mixer can be powered by internal batteries (approximately five hours use from eight AA alkaline cells), external 12V mains adapter (not supplied) or 10-15V battery supply connected to the 4-pin XLR. A 12V radio microphone supply outlet (4-pin Hirose) is also provided.
