TELEX EARPHONES

A comprehensive range of components which enable earsets to be made up to meet almost every application. The assembly drawing below should assist you in meeting your requirements, but components consist of:

Cables

The first essential component made of dark grey or beige, high-flexibility tinsel cable, length 1.52 metres, using a strain relief behind the connector. Choose from:

CMT-2: Straight cable (dark grey), with 2-pole A-gauge jack plug
CMT-98: Straight cable (beige), with 2-pole 3.5mm jack plug
CMT-92: Straight cable (beige), with 2-pole 3.5mm right-angle jack plug
CMT-95: Straight cable (dark grey), with 2-pole 2.5mm jack plug
CCT-2: Coiled cable (dark grey, 1.52m fully extended) with 2-pole A-gauge jack plug
CCX-2: As CCT-2, but with 2-pole 3.5mm right-angle jack plug
VXT-3: Straight cable (dark grey), with 2-pole A-gauge jack plug, plus in-line volume control (500 ohms) and clothing clip.
VYT-3: As VT-3, but 2000 ohms

Ear receivers (“earphones”)

Essential miniature drivers that generate the acoustic output of an earpiece system. Caucasian coloured plastic, the choices are:

RTR-04: 15 ohms driver unit
RTV-04: 125 ohms driver unit
RTW-04: 500 ohms driver unit
RTX-04: 1000 ohms driver unit
RTY-04: 2000 ohms driver unit

Receivers accept a number of combinations of ear tubes, earpieces (moulds and tips) and earloops (see diagram).

Eartubes

When there is a need for the acoustic feed to the ear without the cable or driver being too noticeable, use the following:

ET-2: Coiled acoustic eartube. Extends to 0.5m. Accepts earmoulds, eartips, or a combo of tip and loop (see diagram).
ET-3: As ET-2 but straight (not coiled) and length 0.6m.
ET-4: Coiled acoustic eartube. Extends to 0.5m. Accepts (and is supplied complete with) all sizes of earcone exclusively (does NOT accept loops, moulds or tips - see diagram). Spare elbows are available, stock code 54-937.

Ear Couplings

Allows inner contact with ear, reducing spillage from receivers and ensuring rejection of background noise for listener. Choose from:

Eartips: Minimal coupling using a metal base with replaceable silicone eartips for hygienic purposes. One size only. Snap-fits onto receivers, ET-2, ET-3 or Earloops (but this limits entry into the inner ear). Available as ET-1 (includes a single silicone eartip) or BT-1 silicone eartip replacements in packs (of 25).
Earmoulds: Maximum coupling using a mould of a generic ear. Tighter fitting for comfort, high rejection and little or no spillage. Available in Left or Right (model 1 or 2) and in sizes small, medium or large (slight 1mm difference in each size - if in doubt select medium first). Snap-fits onto receivers, ET-2 or ET-3.
Earcones: Average coupling using a teat shape fitting. Intended to allow low cost hygiene changes but work to a greater effect than eartips. Available in sizes small, medium or large (slight 1mm difference in each size - if in doubt, select medium first). Fit exclusively onto ET-4 only!

Earloop

Holds the receiver or ET-1, onto the ear, avoiding a chance of slipping. Available in adjustable plastic-covered metal AEF-2 or nylon AEF-3 options. Not suitable for use with earmoulds or earcones.

A “standard” system EMY-2 is available, comprising 2k ohms receiver RTY-04, cable CMT-2, and earloop AEF-2.

All earmoulds, eartips and earloops are compatible with Motorola HMN9727, 9752 and 9754 surveillance earpieces.
