Quickpole range is a series of finely engineered, carbon-fibre, 4-section boompoles. They are constructed using high modulus carbon-fibre tubing with 1.5mm wall thickness, giving increased stiffness at lengths over 5 metres but retaining a good strength-to-weight ratio. Due to the wall thickness and one carbon-fibre crosswinding, the tubes are very strong in the compression mode and can be stood upon without breaking. With very substantial aluminium screw locking rings, extra-thick tubing and stainless steel 3/8 inch mounting thread, these deluxe booms are well up to daily scrambles with the ENG pack, whilst special attention to bushing arrangements helps them generate very little boom noise; ideal for more sophisticated drama and feature shoots.
The booms are available in standard lengths with 30mm outside tubing. A 35mm diameter single piece 1400mm extension, QP120, is available to fit all QP series fishpoles.
The extension has the added advantage that it can be extended like the other segments. The rubber foot is removed, revealing the nylon felt spacer. The extension is fitted like an extra segment, and can be left on the boom.
Like the Quickpole 4 series, the Quickpole 5 range is a series of finely engineered, carbon-fibre boompoles with one of the main differences being the five sections. They are constructed using ‘UHM fibre layering’ to give increased rigidity at longer lengths whilst maintaining a lightweight feel.
A newly designed collapsing part that employs Teflon sheeting and silicone-lubricated felts allows for a smoother extension and collapse, whilst an ‘anti-twist’ mechanism between the pole sections replaces the retention pin of the 4-series poles.

QXS range is a series of carbon-fibre, 5-section boompoles designed specifically for documentary and ENG booming work. They are constructed using pull-braiding carbon-fibre tubing with 1mm wall thickness, reducing the weight compared to the QP feature series. Screw locking rings and other mechanical parts are machined from aircraft aluminium, and a stainless steel 3/8 inch mounting thread has been designed to ‘survive thousands of microphone changes’.
