The Tascam range of CD players collectively provide for a plethora of applications whether in broadcast, live performance or where continuous, varied playback is required. Most players listed provide MP3 playback and all provide both analogue and digital outputs; all may be rack-mounted.
CD-200 - MP3/WAV Playback, 2U
A rack-mountable (2U) CD player unit capable of playing audio CDs as well as MP3 and WAV files stored on data CDs of CD, CD-R or CD-RW format. Transport and track selection buttons are mounted on the front panel along with track playback mode buttons (shuffle, repeat, program) and MP3 or WAV folder select buttons. Repeat modes are the usual 'single repeat' and 'all repeat' but when playing a correctly formatted MP3 or WAV data CD, the 'folder repeat' option is also available. Intro play mode also available to preview introductory track content. Textual information is displayed on the front panel display, from CD Text or ID3 tag information (if present). Switchable pitch-shift up to +/-12% and 6.35mm jack socket for headphones with adjustable level are also controlled on the front panel.
Audio quality and continuity is ensured by the 10-second audio buffer provided for shock protection and the player's 3-beam, semiconductor laser with a digital filter of 8x over sampling.
Audio output is available on the rear both as unbalanced RCA (phono) sockets or as coaxial digital (S/PDIF) output.

CD-200BT - Bluetooth playback, 2U
A 2U rackmount CD player incorporating a Bluetooth receiver for playback of content stored on mobile phones, tablets and other Bluetooth devices, the CD-200BT may be suitable for many applications such as dance studios, school halls, houses of worship and commercial environments like restaurants, retail stores and beauty salons. The CD-200BT can pair with up to eight Bluetooth devices, with a wireless range of approximately 10 metres, subject to environment. Bluetooth pairing and device selection is via a single button on the front panel. A combination of short and long presses will identify the current connected device, switch paired device or initiate the pairing function to connect new or additional Bluetooth sources.
The single CD drive is tray-loading and compatible with CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs. Media formats supported include MP2, MP3 and WAV files. Analogue output is provided on unbalanced RCA (phono) sockets while coaxial RCA and optical Toslink connections provide S/PDIF digital output from CD playback. Sampling frequency of the digital output is always 44.1 kHz regardless of the playback file sampling frequency. Audio from Bluetooth playback and line-level audio input from the Aux input socket (3.5mm stereo) can be output as analogue signals. A headphone output, 6.35mm stereo jack, and rotary volume control enable local monitoring.

CD-500B - Balanced XLR outputs, 1U
Designed specifically for compact 1U rack-mounting, the CD-500B has a single slot-loading transport, a 10-key front panel allowing direct track selection, accepts 12cm audio or data CDs (containing MP3 or WAV files), in CD, CD-R and CD-RW formats. Shuffle, repeat ('single repeat', 'program repeat', 'random repeat' or 'all repeat'), A-B repeat and program playback modes are available as well as a rotary switch controlling pitch shift (up to +/-16%) and menu selection on the front panel.
Additional features include: 'fader start' mode via relay in control; 'key original' mode, allowing one to change playback speed without affecting pitch; the 'call' function, allowing return to the last point from which playback was started (except for data CD use); 'auto cue' mode, 'auto ready' mode and also a fade mode allowing up to ten seconds of level fading into and out of tracks. Continuity is also ensured by a 20-second memory buffer providing shock protection called flash-mode (except for data CD use).
Control is by the included RC-500 infra-red remote control, by the rear-mounted RS-232C serial interface which allows programming with AMX and systems or by the simple 'relay in' and 'relay out' 3.5mm mini-jack sockets that allow basic fader-start control and multiple machine daisy-chain control. CD500B also has the inclusion of a parallel 15-pin D-sub interface for remote control.

Tascam CD-A580 V2 offers cassette and USB memory recording or playback, along with CD playback - all of which are very popular professional and consumer audio formats for applications including hotel, restaurant, DJ playback, dance and sporting facilities. Unbalanced line input and line output connections are by way of RCA (phono) connectors. The device has fixed rack mounting hardware that requires 3U of space. A 6.3mm headphone jack connector positioned on the front facing panel allows local monitoring.
The twin-head tape deck can be used to playback normal (Type I), chrome (Type II), and metal (Type IV) tapes, and record to normal or chrome type cassette tapes. A dubbing function allows the cassette deck to record directly from CD, whilst +/-10% pitch control can be applied to cassette playback. The CD deck is compatible with CD-R and CD-RW in CD-DA and MP3 data formats, and shuffle or programmed playback are available.
