Canford continues to innovate and is set to launch several new products and services at IBC 2016

Following strategic investment, Canford is launching their new fibre termination facility, which will be located at their Washington UK headquarters and promise a number of other product developments for IBC 2016.

Stephen Gallagher, Marketing Manager explains: “IBC is an incredibly important exhibition for Canford and we’re delighted to be announcing several new products and services. Most significant is our new fibre termination service with which we’ll deliver a short lead-time service for the termination of LEMO, Neutrik and other fibre connectors, for situations where speed is of the essence”.

Project lead, and Head of Design John Driver added: “Our new fibre termination service is a natural progression of Canford’s UK manufacturing capability and demonstrates the company’s tenacity to evolve with new technology. The ability to provide customers with a qualified and speedy fibre termination service further extends our ability to produce ready-made and custom cable assemblies”.

The extensive family of Canford Mains Distribution Units receives a new addition too. Designed and manufactured in-house, the new model incorporates an LCD current meter. The display provides system integrators the ability to quickly monitor overall current draw, identify and resolve any overloading issues.

Also manufactured by Canford is the Fibre Field Termination Rackmount Case, designed to facilitate a fast, easy and effective solution for installing hybrid fibre connectors on site, eliminating the need for pre-terminated cable assemblies. The boxes come complete with up to 8 x Lemo 3K.93C EDW or FMW cable assemblies pre-fitted in either a flat or angled 2U front panel.

The SMPTE cable enters the chassis via rear cable glands and the strain relief is secured to the clamping post. The electrical cables are then terminated directly to the AMP connector provided on the internal bulkhead. The fibre cables terminate directly to the SC coupler on the same bulkhead using Senko XP Fit Plus connectors or alternatively via SC tails which are spliced to the incoming fibre using the integral splice tray.

This system not only provides improved protection to both the electrical and fibre connections which are secured within the case but also allows for quick and easy replacement or repair of any failed SMPTE connectors.

There’s also the new Green-GO DECT wireless intercom which interfaces seamlessly with the existing digital wired intercom, providing high quality, low latency audio with robust RF coverage.

Visitors to Canford’s stand (Hall 11, Stand 11.D01) will also see new products in the Enclosure Systems range of full rack cabinets and unique IP rated 19 inch rack enclosures.
