Service during Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Canford remains open for business. We continue to monitor the situation and will take all necessary steps in line with government and World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of our staff. Any changes to our usual level of service will be detailed here.
Please continue to order as usual. While our phone lines remain open, we are operating with a reduced number of sales staff who are working remotely so please communicate with us by email or place your order on the website where possible. Contact details for all departments can be found on the contact us page.
Next day and timed next day delivery services are still available in the UK. However, our carriers have suspended their service level guarantees and advised us that they will be provided on a "best efforts" basis. At the present time we have not seen any disruption to service levels but please be aware of this when choosing a delivery service.
The cut-off time for placing an order to ensure UK next day delivery has been changed from 17:00 to 16:00. While we will endeavour to process orders placed after this time as quickly as possible we can't guarantee that they will be shipped the same day. This change is reflected in the cut-off time for next day delivery shown on the website.
Delivery address availability & back orders
When placing an order please ensure that there will be someone available at the delivery premises to receive the order. We appreciate that this is a rapidly changing situation with regards to staff availability and local restrictions in different parts of the world so it may not always be possible. In the event that you become aware that a delivery cannot be received please contact us as soon as possible.
If you have a back order with Canford (where we are waiting for stock to be manufactured or arrive from our supplier) and the stock becomes available to deliver, we will contact you to ensure that the delivery premises remain open to receive the delivery before shipping your order.
Trade counter collection
In order to protect the wellbeing of our staff and customers during the outbreak we have suspended trade counter collections in line with UK government advice on non-essential travel and social distancing.
Where products aren't available from stock, the lead times we quote are based on historical averages that don't take account of local restrictions in place on our suppliers and disruption to global shipping operations. We continue to work with our suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and will advise you of any changes to expected delivery dates for your orders.
