An update from Canford

Canford has remained open throughout the entire lockdown. Our team has worked hard to ensure customers continue to receive the usual high-level of service Canford is known for, despite the pressures and problems encountered as a direct result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

It hasn't been easy, but Canford has delivered a near 'business as usual' service across all departments. This includes customised solutions from our Portland, Dorset factory which is regarded as the 'supplier of choice' for custom metalwork, laser engraving and bespoke connector panels for use in Broadcast and AV applications.

Our clients had confidence in Canford to deliver - even despite the pandemic! And our considerable experience, dependable service and reputation for high-quality has seen customers turning to Canford in situations where their usual suppliers have either temporarily closed, or have experienced significant disruption to their business.

We have continued to work on development projects too, with our software development team using the “quiet time” to focus on some more complex tasks. One in particular has been to re-write the coding of our website to make it more accessible with a new, mobile friendly responsive design. The same depth of product information, one of our key objectives.

Unsurprisingly we’ve seen a significant increase in the proportion of Canford website visitors using tablets and mobile phones to access our content during lockdown, a general trend which has been accelerated by the COVID-19 outbreak as more and more of us work from home.

A recent study found that "Fifty of the biggest UK employers questioned by BBC have said they have no plans to return all staff to the office full-time in the near future". We hope that our 'mobile friendly' changes come as a welcome update, and spell the end of quite so much pinching to zoom or trying to tap buttons which were often too small or close together.
