A range of remote panels that offer a convenient way to provide signal inputs, outputs, source selection, and volume remotely from installed equipment. In most cases mounting is on standard, single-gang, UK flush or surface boxes, as used for AC mains sockets.
BE-1 Remote input plate
Similar to the LE-1, the BE-1 provides a balanced, stereo line-level input, for use with professional audio equipment such as mixing consoles, or broadcast equipment. Like the LE-1, it connects to one of the DCM-1 extension ports with a single, four-pair, screened, Cat5 cable, see Cat5 F/UTP. Multiple BE-1s may be 'daisy-chained' in the same way as the LE-1s and the two types of plate may be intermixed. Two 3-pin female XLR connectors are fitted. Once connected, any audio connected to the BE-1 is treated as any other source and can be routed to any zone in the same manner.
BE-1B and BE-1W are designed for use in the UK with dimensions of 145 x 85 x 33mm (WxHxD).
BT-1E, BT-1F Bluetooth input plate
BT-1E and BT-1F are remote, wall-mounting Bluetooth wireless input modules. A single button allows the user to pair a device for secure operation, whilst an alternative unsecured mode can be configured at installation. A bi-coloured LED indicates the connection progress and streaming activity, and RF power level adjustment reduces the risk of accidental inter-room connection.
Connection to compatible equipment is via CAT5 cable up to 100m in length and via RJ45 connection. BT-1E has extension port compatibility and can therefore be used in conjunction with the DCM1 and DCM1e zone mixers. BT-1F uses facility port connection and is therefore compatible with Z4MK4 and Z8MK4 zone mixers, 46-120, 46-120 and 46-120MEDIA zone mixing amplifiers, MA40F, MA40T and MA40E mini amplifiers, MA80FT and MA80E mini amplifiers, 46-80 and 46-80T zone mixing amplifiers, MPA120MK2 and MPA240MK2. Dimensions of both units are 85 x 85mm (HxW) and can be used with standard UK single-gang electrical back box with 35mm minimum depth.
CDR-1, CDR1F Digital control mixer
CDR-1 and CDR1F are specifically designed for use with the DCM-1. CDR-1s may be fitted to standard electrical back boxes in whatever location is convenient in each zone. Different versions are offered for flush and surface mounting. The CDR-1 provides the user with local source-selection and level-control for the zone in which it is fitted. It additionally allows selection of any zone groups to which the zone has been assigned, which gives simple and complete control over audio in multiple areas which may be split or joined in different ways at different times. Once enabled on the DCM-1 and a local key-code entered, zone EQ is also adjustable from the CDR-1, allowing audio optimisation from within the zone itself. An 'Installer' mode permits zone assignment and adjustment of other installation parameters.
Any zone may have one CDR-1, more than one, or none at all. The DCM-1 can support up to 100 CDR-1s. CDR-1s are interconnected with just one standard, four-pair, Cat5, UTP cable, see Cat5 U/UTP; units may be 'daisy-chained' at will and/or connected individually back to the four CDR ports of the DCM-1, using almost any wiring topology convenient for the installation. Up to eight CDR-1s may be powered directly from a DCM-1, via the Cat5 connections. Systems requiring more than eight will need additional power supplies, whose location and system connection will depend on the topology and cable lengths involved.
CDR-1 are surface mount plates, whilst CDR1F are flush mount plates.
FPA-1 Facility port adapter
An adapter that enables Cloud ported accessories such as LM-2 or BT-1 to be connected to a system that doesn’t have a facility port. Three 3-pole Phoenix style connectors allow connection for output and remote music control, whilst two RJ45 connectors allow for connection to wall plate and Cloud mixer. Power is via included 12V AC PSU.
Frequency response: 20Hz – 20kHz, +/- 0.5dB. Distortion: Less than 0.01%. Noise: Less than -90dB. Dimensions (WxHxD): 116 x 33 x 54mm. With: 184g.
L-1 Remote input plate – Line level with rotary volume control
L-1 is an end-point only, active line level input plate with dual RCA (phono) and single 3.5mm stereo jack input sockets. A rotary control allows remote level adjustment of products including Z series (MK2/3/4), 46-120 series, 46-50, 46-80, MPA120mk2, MPA240mk2, and selected MA40/MA80 amplifiers.
LE-1 Remote input plate - Line level
Like the ME-1 there are four versions of the LE-1 input plate. They provide connection for an unbalanced, stereo line-level audio source, such as a portable music centre, laptop, radiomic receiver or similar. They connect to one of the extension ports of the DCM-1 with a single, four-pair, screened, Cat5 cable, see Cat5 F/UTP. Multiple LE-1s may be 'daisy-chained' together to provide input points at different locations in the same zone. Signals applied to plates wired in this way will be summed together. An internal gating-circuit on each plate automatically 'disconnects' any chained plates which are not in use, to minimise noise contribution. The inputs are electronically buffered to minimise noise and interference pickup, and input gain is locally adjustable with a preset control. Both dual RCA (phono) sockets for sources with a nominal level of 0dB, and a 3.5mm stereo jack socket for sources with a higher input level of around +8dB are provided; +/-12dB of gain trim adjustment is available on the faceplate. Once connected, any audio connected to an LE-1 is treated as any other source and can be routed to any zone in the same manner.
LE-1B and LE-1W are designed for use in the UK with dimensions of 145 x 85 x 30mm (WxHxD). Note: Depth quoted is from plate to rear, not including protruding input connectors on face plate.
LM-2 Remote input plate – Microphone and line level
LM-2 fit in a UK standard dual-gang back-box, and are connected to suitable Cloud mixers and mixer-amplifiers over a distance of up to 100 metres. Although the modules are active, they take power from the host device. They have a microphone priority circuit which introduces a 30dB reduction of the music whenever the device detects a microphone signal.
The LM-2 has a line input, a balanced microphone input each with separate level controls. Two knobs control six-way source selection and level control respectively. A switch enables microphone priority. The module requires a screened Cat5 cable with overall screen, terminated with a screened RJ45 connector. Direct connection with the 46-120 series is therefore possible with these plates, however they do require suitable interfacing to be used with the 9-pin, D-sub Facility port on the 46-50 amplifier. Colour black.
M-1 Remote input plate – Microphone level
M-1 is an active input plate with single, balanced 3-pin XLR input and supporting rotary level controller. For use with Z-series (MK2/3/4), 46-120 series, 46-50, 46-80, MPA120mk2, MPA240mk2, and selected MA40/MA80 amplifiers.
ME-1 Remote input plate – Microphone level
Available in four options (black or white for UK or EU), the ME-1 remote input plate provides either one or two balanced microphone inputs - two on the ME-1B and ME-1W, one on the ME-1MB and ME-1MW. They is useful in multi-purpose areas where microphones are needed occasionally. There are rotary microphone level and screw-driver operated LF and HF EQ controls per input. It connects to one of the four dedicated microphone inputs of the DCM-1 with a single, four-pair, screened, Cat5 cable, see Cat5 F/UTP. In the case of the ME-1B and ME-1W the two inputs are mixed together at the plate, and the summed signal applied to the DCM-1. Inputs are balanced 3-pin female XLR connectors. Phantom power at 12V is available, set by a jumper accessible from the rear of the plate.
ME-1B and ME-1W are designed for use in the UK with dimensions of 145 x 85 x 33mm (WxHxD), whilst the ME-1MB and ME-1MW are designed for use in the EU with dimensions of 100 x 50 x 33mm (WxHxD). Note: Depth quoted is from plate to rear, not including controls on face plate. Total depth including protruding volume control is 50mm.
RL-1 Remote level control
These are constructed to fit in UK standard single-gang back-box; they provide remote control functions for several Cloud products. Connections are terminal-blocks which may be wired to suitable Cloud mixers and mixer amplifiers using screened, two-core cable over a distance of up to 100m.
RSL-6 Remote level with source selection
Has the same remote level functionality as the RL-1, and also has an additional rotary source select controller to switch between six sources.
RSL-4 Remote level with source selection
Has the same remote level functionality as the RSL-6, however limited to four sources.
XLR-F1, XLR-M1 Connector plate – 3-pin XLR with screw terminals
These offer a convenient way to provide signal inputs and outputs remotely from installed equipment, providing screw-terminal connection to male and female XLR connectors, while mounting on standard, single-gang, UK flush or surface boxes, as used for AC mains sockets.
Each plate is fitted with a single XLR connector having a rear-mounted circuit board fitted with a miniature 3-pole, two-part, terminal-strip connector, otherwise known as 'Euroblock' or Phoenix connector. Thus the plates can be terminated on site without soldering. The connectors are compatible pin to pin with a range of Cloud equipment, including CX163, CX263, CX462, MA60, MA60Media, Z4ii, Z8ii, 36-50, 46-50, MPA60, MPA120 and MPA240 models. The plates may be used, of course, in conjunction with other equipment, provided appropriate attention is given to observe the proper connections.
XLR-F1 has female 3-pin XLR socket, whilst XLR-M1 has male 3-pin XLR socket.
