DACS INSTALL PCB INTERFACES

Located in North East England, DACS have been designing and installing audio systems for over 25 years; manufacturing passive and active custom interfaces. DACS Install PCBs use 3-pole 3.5mm Phoenix type connectors for all audio connections. Each pin of each terminal can be individually checked, and the 3-way terminals can be removed/swopped for troubleshooting.

The common audio 0V connects to all audio 0V/screens. When using balanced signals, it’s simple to ‘lift’ either the incoming or outgoing screen. The PCBs can be DIN rail mounted using optional DIN Rail clips.

MIX

MIX allows the passive mixing of a single balanced stereo signal into a single balanced output, or two unbalanced signals into a single unbalanced output. When linked into a standard 10k input impedance there is no level drop. The device is often implemented on the output of a music source where it’s easier to run a single cable on a relatively short run, or going into ‘dumb’ amplifiers with no mono converting (mono-ing) capabilities. Dimensions: 48 x 17mm

SPLIT

SPLIT allows the passive splitting of a single balanced input to up to four balanced outputs. This device would be suitably placed on the rear of an amp rack for simple signal distribution. In this situation the user would be able to check the amplifiers by removing the 3-way terminals in sequence. Dimensions: 48 x 26mm

BALTIC

For long lines it is normal to require isolating transformers to maintain high audio quality and reduce hum or buzz interference during transmission. BALTIC passively mixes two balanced inputs; often the BALTIC is at the DJ’s stereo out, mixing to mono and feeding a single Starquad cable to a rack. The terminals provided allow the user to omit the incoming or outgoing screen for full electrical isolation. If used for a single input, or two BALTICs in a stereo configuration where each Baltic receives only one signal, there is a 0.3dB loss. 0dBu, 1000Hz, 0.001% THD+N; +20dBu, 1000Hz, 0.0015% THD+N; 0dBu, 40Hz, 0.016% THD+N;, +20dBu, 40Hz, 0.08% THD+N. Dimensions: 44.5 x 36.5mm

RJ45 LINK 02/VOL

A device that sends up to four balanced audio lines down a single CAT5/6 cable. DACS recommend the use of screened cable, however they not the connection is 'quite robust' without. The pin out allows the units to interface with other stage or wall boxes. Dimensions: 44.5 x 36.5mm
