Tascam media players have been designed as a multi-media solution for AV users within the pro, broadcast, and hospitality sectors. Models include playback of WAV and MP3 audio from media such as CD, SD card, USB flash drive, and radio.
This 1U rack-mounting media player incorporates a V4.2 Bluetooth receiver for audio playback from compatible devices, as well as MP3 or WAV audio files from CD, or MP3, WAV, AAC, or WMA files from a USB flash device, or SD card media. A DAB+/FM tuner offers a radio source which can be routed through the main outputs or dedicated, unbalanced, RCA (phono) 'Tuner Out' connections. The front slot-loading CD drive is compatible with CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW (CD-DA format only) media.
As well as a backlit LC display, the front panel presents all control functionality including a 'guarded' power on/off push switch and ten buttons for quick access to tracks. The buttons are also used to edit settings in conjunction with the 'shift' button, menu/source/display buttons and push-to-enter rotary control for menu navigation. There are stop, play, pause, FF and RW transport controls and a multifunction button for pairing and returning to previous menu item. A rotary volume control adjusts the output level from the adjacent stereo 6.35mm headphone jac. Both SD/SDCH and USB input connections are also situated on the front panel. Finally, a 3.5mm 3-pole jack, positioned on the front panel, can be used to input an auxiliary audio source.
The rear of the unit houses all other I/O connectivity including L/R unbalanced RCA tuner outputs, L/R unbalanced RCA analogue outputs and L/R balanced, main outputs using two 3-pin XLRs. There is a single DAB antenna connection using a 50 ohm, F-type connector, a 9-pin D-sub serial connector for remote control by RS-232C and an AC mains IEC power inlet. A space for an optional IF-E100 Ethernet card is provided which adds network control.
