A range of large diaphragm condenser microphones from Austrian Audio. Manufactured in Vienna, Austria, these mics have been designed for recording vocals or instruments in a professional studio setup.
OC-S10 - Selectable patterns, dual output
Manufactured in Vienna, Austria, OC-S10 is a reference large-diaphragm condenser microphone that has been meticulously designed for recording lead vocals and solo instruments. The microphone features five selectable polar patterns, three low-cut filter options, and switchable -10dB and -20dB pads. In combination with the dual 3-pin XLR outputs OC-S10 provides 'maximum post-production flexibility'
A significant contribution to Austrian Audio's success has been the design of the CKR12 ceramic capsule. During the development of the OC-S10, aspects such as roadworthiness and a slim design were put aside in order to bring the fantastic sound of the CKR12 capsule to the recording completely unadulterated. This was achieved by positioning the capsule as freely as possible, eliminating reflective surfaces, and increasing the distances for reduced internal reflections. Austrian Audio suggest the acoustic design around the capsule is 'so invisible that in the measuring room, no difference between the capsule-free, open capsule and the assembled microphone is evident'.
The included shock mount features a ball-joint connection for precise and delicate positioning, making setup effortless. Additionally, the magnetically attached metal mesh filter effectively reduces unwanted plosive sounds while preserving the full richness and detail of the vocal spectrum. The circuit design was implemented using discrete components and symmetrical current feedback amplifiers resulting in a high slew rate, resulting in precision in the reproduction of transients with minimal self-noise.
The front and back of the capsule can also be tapped separately allowing OC-S10 unique processing possibilities with Austrian Audio's PolarDesigner and StereoCreator plugins in the Post Pro. These enable designers to access the polar pattern or the desired stereo image, deal with room sound, proximity effect, and unwanted sibilance.
Included accessories: 1x OCSM10 microphone shock mount, 1x OCPF10 pop filter, 1x wooden microphone box, all-black hardcase.

OC818 - Selectable patterns, dual output
Available in black or silver finish, and engineered and manufactured in Austria, OC818 is Austrian Audio’s premier, professional, large diaphragm microphone. The microphone offers multiple polar patterns along with dual output via 3-pin XLR and 5-pin mini-XLR connections.
OC818's has a high sensitivity, low self-noise and ability to handle everything from a whisper to extreme SPLs, making it suited to studio, broadcast and live applications. The consistency of the handmade CKR12 ceramic capsule allows the OC818 to be match-paired with any other OC818, and when in cardioid mode, it can also be match-paired with an OC18.
The optionally available OCR8 remote control, and the PolarPilot App for iOS or Android allows the user to control the OC818 wirelessly from a smart device over Bluetooth. The user is also cable to craft 255 discrete polar patterns and also have real-time, wireless control over the analogue high pass filters and pad. A 'last 60 seconds of audio' level monitor/logger enables the engineer to see if there is any clipping that requires adjustment. Out of the box, OC818 has a wide cardioid setting, however this can be edited in the app and stored for later use without the PolarPilot app.
Optional accessories: OCR8 Bluetooth remote.

OC18 - Cardioid
OC18 is Austrian Audio’s affordable large diaphragm microphone; a classic cardioid directional pattern with identical acoustic characteristics as its big brother the OC818. Engineered and manufactured in Austria, OC18's high sensitivity and low self-noise ensures it can handle sound sources from a whisper to extreme SPLs without distortion. On-board analogue high-pass filter (40Hz/80Hz/160Hz) ,and -10dB/-20dB pad allows honing of audio signal. OC18 has a single 3-pin XLR output connection and is not compatible with OCR8 Bluetooth remote.
OC18 can be match-paired with any other OC18 or paired with any OC818 set in cardioid mode.

OC16 - Cardioid
OC16 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone with fixed cardioid polar pattern that has been designed for use with drums to electric and acoustic guitars, pianos, wind and string instruments to vocals. It has been designed to have a robust build-quality and is equipped with the CKR6 ceramic capsule - which is handmade in Vienna. The employed Open Acoustics technology eliminates acoustic interference, such as unwanted reflections and standing waves, within the microphone. The result is an open and natural sound.
A 40Hz filter is employed to eliminate the lowest interference frequencies, whilst a 160Hz filter is included to counteract proximity effect. The CKR capsule is suspended in the microphone at three elastic points to keep interference from structure-borne noise to a minimum. This makes it possible to use the microphone without a suspension stand, for example suspended from a cable in front of a guitar amplifier. OC16 can tolerate sound pressure of up to 148dB SPL and can therefore be used with little risk of distortion.
OC16 all-rounder microphone is delivered in a practical soft case including an elastic spider suspension.
