A range of ruggedised Cat 6 RJ45 connectors, using proven, Neutrik style body-shells, cable clamping and secure ‘push-pull’ latching mechanisms. These fully shielded connectors are fully Cat6 compliant, offering data rates up to 10GBits/s, high noise and EMI immunity. and are IP65 rated when mated.
The Ethercon Cat6 was designed for data transfer interconnections where a more robust connector is required than the basic RJ45, and are especially suitable for location and outdoor applications, stage, studio and other commercial and industrial environments. It utilises a push-pull shell latching system rather than the delicate plastic latch on the RJ45 (which is disabled in the Ethercon application).
The panel connectors are integrated into the main Neutrik ranges, permitting easy mounting in Universal Series panels and other pre-punched metalwork. They have a D-series style metal shell and secure latching system, and offer a tool-free and gas-tight IDC termination. They have a ground lead jumper with selectable grounding option. The cable is clamped, pairs are separated and trimmed, then laid into slots. Closing a cover completes the IDC termination without punchdown tools. They are available with nickel or black (-B suffix) shells.
The cable connector is a robust diecast shell that fits over a shielded Cat6 RJ45 plug. Separated pairs are inserted into slots on a 'load bar', trimmed, and inserted into the RJ45 plug. If shielded cable is used, braided shielding or drain wire is held under the rear shield crimp. Two clamps are placed around the RJ45 plug and then inserted into the main connector shell. The normal style Neutrik chuck and gland with integrated strain relief are used. Standard gland colour is black, with other colours available, type BXX, as accessories. Suitable for 5.5 to 6.5mm cable diameters, and an insulation diameter of 0.95 - 1.07mm.
Note: Ethercon Cat6 are NOT intermatable with the Ethercon Cat5E or Cat6A series.
