COAX CONNECTORS BNC - Male, cable - Crimp - 3G HD-SDI

These high-performance, 75 ohm types have been developed specifically for HDTV applications. They have extremely low return-loss, and are rated to 1000 mating cycles. The impedance-matched, gold-plated, crimp centre-pin 'clicks' home into a PTFE insulator in a nickel-plated body with crimp outer sleeve ('ferrule'). Return loss is typically 35dB at 1GHz, 28dB at 2GHz and 20dB at 3GHz.

48-5047, 48-5057 Canford SDV-F

For cable group Y, the standard version of the connector has crimp sizes 1.72mm and 8.23mm. An alternative version is available (code FC1) with the American standard 1.07mm and 7.06mm sizes. The latter is suitable for use with crimp tools designed for American manufactured connectors. Both have ferrules that are 12.7mm long. For Canford group Y flexible video cables, type FC1 should be used with SDV-F and type FC with SDV-XF. Coax Connectors crimp tool 96-HTS-75A (55-8182) should be used with type FC connectors, crimp tool 96-HTS-77 (55-8187) should be used with type FC1 connectors.

Optional accessories: Coloured strain reliefs are recommended for crimp types, see BNC strain relief bushes.

Canford offers several ranges of BNC connectors of a less stringent specification, including 50 ohm types suitable for RF purposes; they are described separately and designated 'BNC', rather than 'BNC HD', elsewhere in this section.

Coax Connectors crimp tools are also stocked, see COAX CONNECTORS CRIMP TOOLS. These are supplied complete with appropriate dies. However tools and dies from other manufacturers may also be used, see crimp tools. Crimp dies must be the correct type for the connector and cable size. Due to the precise dimensions of the centre pins required to achieve superior performance at HD bit-rates, crimp-dies used for SD BNCs are NOT suitable for Coax Connectors BNC HD connectors.
