Sennheiser SL SpeechLine digital wireless systems have been specifically designed and optimised for speech and lecture applications, making them a popular addition or installation to conferencing suites, corporate events, and places of higher education. Systems include handheld vocal, headworn, lavalier, boundary, and desktop to aid best integration with room.
Operating within the 1.9GHz frequency band, these systems integrate features including Dante for remote setup and IT management, auto frequency management to ensure clean transmission and reception, auto level management to ensure best quality audio at all times, and AES 236 encryption – often used to avoid unwanted communications outside of the system.
The complete systems have options for rack kit inclusion or case inclusion so the user can purchase the equipment that best suits their application. Case and rack kit can also be purchased as optional accessories.
Receivers
A SpeechLine series receiver that is designed to fit a half 19-inch, 1U space and be compatible with a range of SpeechLine transmitters. Operating within the 1.9GHz frequency band, the receiver has functionality including 256bit AES encryption, automatic sound profiling, frequency and interference management automation, and network control. Network control is via Sennheiser Control Cockpit, however system setting and status is also accessible via AMX or Crestron media control protocol. A 7-band graphic equalizer allows tailoring of sound output, however sound profiles including ‘female voice’, ‘male voice’, ‘instrument’ and ‘media’ allow quick setup.
The front facing panel of the receiver houses power button, ‘pair’ button for easy connection to compatible transmitter, and jog/push wheel for menu navigation and selection. The menus and setting are displayed on the OLED screen including associated transmitter battery status, signal strength, audio level, and name. A green LED positioned to the right of the front panel signifies power on status. The rear facing panel of the receiver houses 12V DC power input connector, unbalanced audio output on dual RCA (phono) plugs, balanced audio output on 3-pin XLR connector, and LAN connection via RJ45. Two removable antenna can be connected via reverse SMA connectors.

Power can also be provided via PoE making the SL MCR 2 an unobtrusive addition to a multichannel wireless system. All controls, audio setup, and frequency management is made via Sennheiser Control Cockpit software. MCR 2 also features automatic gain control, frequency management, and mix output whereby all audio channels can be automatically mixed and summed to a single output signal via 3-pin Phoenix style connector.
Included accessories: Wall mounting plate, drilling template, and quick quide.
Frequency response: 20 – 20,000Hz. Latency: 23ms. Dimensions (WxHxD): 180 x 180 x 45mm, including wallmount. Weight: 650g, with wallmount; 560g, without wallmount.

Transmitters
A SpeechLine series handheld transmitter fitted with MME 865 supercardioid condenser capsule. This handheld wireless transmitter can be purchased separately for a bespoke system or add-on, however it is included in the SL HANDHELD SET as standard.
The silver coloured microphone has been ‘optimised for speech’ in presentation, lecture, or conferencing situations. No settings require adjusting on the microphone as bidirectional communication between transmitter and receiver ensures adjustments made on the receiver are automatically received on the transmitter. A display on the microphone allows the user to see name, battery status and reception quality from the receiver, whilst a sliding switch allows the user to mute the microphone with ease.
Operational for up to 15hours on a single charge, the included BA10 lithium-ion battery has external charging contacts for use with optional CHG 2 or CHG 4 chargers. A USB socket is also provided for direct charging without dock.
Dimensions (LxDia): 215 x 40mm. Weight: 262g.
This bodypack has the performance attributes of the SL Handheld 865, however as a bodypack transmitter it is designed for use with MKE 1 lavalier or SL headset microphone. Other Sennheiser microphones with 3.5mm locking jack termination can also be used.
Using the BA30, SL Bodypack can be operational for up to 15hours, and charging can be via CHG 2 or CHG 4 docks, or via USB socket.
Dimensions (HxWxD): 100 x 65 x 24mm. Weight: 88g
A SpeechLine series boundary microphone transmitter designed to be table or wall mounted in lecture theatre, boardroom, or conferencing suite. The microphone has a half-cardioid pickup pattern and frequency response of 40Hz to 20kHz for legibility of voice reproduction. A button located in the centre of the microphone can be pre-programmed as PTT, PTM, toggle on/off, or permanently on, with a surrounding LED illustrating the microphone’s status.
A typical operating time of 13hours is aided by battery life LED indicators, however an operator can also monitor the status remotely via Sennheiser Control Cockpit. As well as charging directly via USB connection, the SL Boundary 114-S can be charged wirelessly via the option CNG 2W desktop charger.
Dimensions (DxWxH): 114 x 85.3 x 30.8mm. Weight: 208g, without battery.
