Omni-directional electret models, fitted with connectors to suit Trantec radiomic belt packs, these microphones may also be used, with appropriate adapters, in wired or wireless applications. The range extends from robust designs for everyday applications in communications, public address and music recording to high quality models aimed at professional live environments for instruments, speech and vocals.
Trantec part numbers are usually prefixed to indicate which connector is fitted as standard. Trantec radiomic belt packs use a variety of connectors, so care should be taken to choose a microphone fitted with the connector to suit the equipment with which it is to be used.
SJ prefix: Trantec screw-jack. 3.5mm 3-pole.
TS prefix: Lemo, 4-pole.
X prefix: Miniature 4-pole XLR style.
Affordable and robustly designed these have been specifically designed to suit the requirements of everyday applications and is particularly suitable for voice applications, where highly intelligible speech is required. The LP-2 is supplied fitted with a Trantec screw-jack.
Omni-directional electret condenser. Response: 200Hz -16KHz. Impedance: 3000 ohms. Supply: 2-20V, 50uA. Cable length: 1.5m.
Included accessories: LP2-TC tieclip.
These types have a flat, extended frequency response ‘suitable for reproduction of voice or musical instruments’. for applications including communications, public address and music recording. The cable is attached with a composite steel retainer and moulded elastic strain relief. Noise transmission from handling and clothing movement is very low. Internal RFI suppression is included.

Optional accessories: 55WS foam windshield for TS55 only.
Aimed at professional live environments the 212 types can be used for instrument pick-up or and speech or vocals. With an ‘exceptionally low physical profile, it can withstand the penetration of moisture and make-up’, both desirable when used in the hair, on the face, or as a body worn lavalier.
The -R (=red dot) suffix indicates that the microphone incorporates a -12dB pad (or attenuator) to avoid preamplifier overload when used with very high sound levels.
Omni-directional electret condenser. Impedance: 4400 ohms. Supply: 2-10V, 12-25mA. Response: 40Hz -18kHz +/-3dB. Cable length: 1.2m.
Included accessories: ACC/TC tie clip, ACC/WS foam windshield.
Electret and condenser microphones used with radiomic transmitter body-packs usually require a low voltage supply that is normally provided by the pack. When used with other equipment adapters are required which take the place of the pack, plugging directly into a standard XLR-3 microphone connection. These derive a power supply for the microphone from a mixer or standard phantom power supply, and provides a balanced output.
