SENNHEISER RADIOMICS - EW-DX series

Sennheiser EW-DX wireless microphone systems have been designed to simplify the professional workflow by utilizing refined technologies along with Sennheiser's knowledge of wireless system design. An advanced feature set also including network-ready components allow users to integrate the wireless system into with ease.

When used in conjunction with Sennheiser’s Control Cockpit, Wireless Systems Manager, and Smart Assist App, the user is able to monitor the wireless system remotely. Other handy features include In-device charging, 12-hour battery operation, and switching bandwidth up to 88MHz.

RECEIVERS

EW-DX EM 2

Sennheiser EW-DX EM2 is a stationary, two-channel receiver that employs switching diversity technology. Featuring Bluetooth technology, the receiver has the ability to be controlled remotely via a control app on iOS or Android smart device. AES256 encryption ensure secure transmission.

The receiver has an automatic frequency setup function with spectrum scan functionality to best establish an equidistant frequency grid with 146 channels, in Standard Mode; or 293 channels in Link Density Mode. An OLED display shows the current frequency, channel number, metering of RF level, metering of AF level, lock status, muting function, antenna switching diversity, app connection, gain, audio output level, menu and battery status for each of the two associated transmitters. An auto-lock feature can be employed to prevent settings from being accidentally altered or tampered with. Using the on-screen menu, navigation buttons, and rotary encoder; the user is able to adjust settings for each channel including frequency, channel name, gain, trim, AF output, low cut, AES 256 encryption, test tone, network settings, integrated antenna booster settings, display brightness, device name, and auto setup settings for automatic frequency setup.

Both receiving channels employs a balanced 3-pin XLR for audio output, each with a maximum output of +18dBu. Each channel also has an unbalanced 6.35mm jack socket afford the user an alternative output with a maximum output of +12dBu. A 6.35mm stereo jack headphone output with headphone volume control is positioned on the front facing panel for monitoring. The receiver is powered via a 12V DC power supplied, whilst PoE can be employed via an RJ-45 connection - therefore offering power redundancy.

EW-DX EM 2 DANTE

This 2-channel receiver has the same fuctionality as EW-DX EM 2, however in addition it has Dante Audio connectivity for integration into a local network.

EW-DX EM 4 DANTE

This 4-channel receiver is essentially 2x EW-DX EM 2 DANTE in a single 1U, 19-inch rackmountable unit.

TRANSMITTERS

EW-DX SK - Beltpack

This is a compact bodypack transmitter for use with Evolution Wireless Digital series receivers including EW-DX EM 2, EW-DX EM 2 DANTE, and EW-DX EM 4 DANTE. The beltpack transmitter is available with either 3.5mm jack or 3-pin LEMO connector. The metal housing affords more ruggedness, whilst up to 8hours of runtime using 2x AA battery cells or up to 12hours when using a single BA 70 rechargeable battery. Charging can be done in-device thanks to the charging contacts on the transmitter pack in conjunction with CHG 70N network enabled charger.

A programmable mute switch is provided for muting or unmuting either the audio signal or the radio signal. The mute switch can also be deactivated to avoid unwanted muting. Using the intuitive menu and navigation buttons the user is able to adjust digital audio trim, mic input trim, generate test tone, switch low-cut filter between off/30/60/80/100/120Hz, and button lock. The backlit E-Ink display allows persistent visual access to relevant status information such as frequency, battery status or AES 256 encryption status - even when taking out batteries.

EW-DX SK has a dynamic range of 134dB and Sennheiser suggest there is no need to set gain on the transmitter thanks to their proprietary Performance Audio Codec (SePAC). An RF output power of 10mW fixed affords a transmission range of up to 100m. Latency is 1.9ms, and audio frequency range is 20Hz to 20kHz -3dB at 3dBfs.

EW-DX SKM - Handheld, MMD 835 capsule

This wireless transmitter has the same functionality and features as EW-DX SK, however it is housed in a 'rugged' metal handheld housing and is shipped complete with MMD 835-1 BK capsule. EW-DX SKM has a dynamic range of 134dB and Sennheiser suggest there is no need to set gain on the transmitter thanks to their proprietary Performance Audio Codec (SePAC). An RF output power of 10mW fixed affords a transmission range of up to 100m. Latency is 1.9ms, and audio frequency range is 20Hz to 20kHz -3dB at 3dBfs. The transmitter can operate for up to 8hours using 2x AA battery cells, or up to 12hours when using a single BA 70 rechargeable battery. The BA 70 can be charged in-situ when using the CHG 70N charger.

EW-DX SKM-S - Handheld, no capsule

This handheld transmitter has the same features and functionality as EW-DX SKM, however it is supplied without microphone capsule - allowing the user to make the choice of microphone that suits the application in hand.

EW-DX TS - Gooseneck base

Available with 3-pin XLR or 5-pin XLR input connection, EW-DX TS is a gooseneck microphone base transmitter designed for podium discussions, speeches, and lectures. Sennheiser suggest the metal housed table stand has 'optimised compatibility' with MEG 14-40 B, MZH 3015, MZH 3040, MZH 3042 goosenecks with associated microphone capsule, although other gooseneck microphones are available.

EW-DX TS has a 10mW RF output with up to 100m working range, and has an operational time of up to 11hours with a single BA 40 battery pack. Wireless charging is supported, whilst users can alternatively use the USB charging option. A programmable mute switch, positioned on the upper front panel has been provided for muting or unmuting the audio signal. This mute switch can also be deactivated.
