Designed to be worn as a lavalier or hidden in clothing, this discreet, cardioid, condenser microphone has been designed for voice reproduction in houses of worship, broadcast studios and theatres. The microphone body is only 5.3mm in diameter, attached to 1.4m cable terminated with a miniature XLR connector. BP899 is very similar to BP898 in terms of design, however it has an omnidirectional, condenser element. The mere 5.3 mm diameter of the microphone body assures minimum visibility. It may be worn as a lavalier and is easily hidden in clothing or hair, providing 'maximum intelligibility and clean, accurate reproduction for vocalists, lecturers, stage and television talent and houses of worship'. With a cardioid response, this condenser microphone 'provides crisp, full-sounding voice pick up and excels as an instrument microphone, especially for pickup of acoustic guitar with the included AT8444 guitar adapter'.
