SONIFEX DANTE AUDIO INTERFACES - Multi-channel - AVN Series

Sonifex AVN-AIO multi-channel audio inputs and outputs to Dante interfaces have been designed as 1U rack-mount solutions for systems integrators within the AV sector. They have either single or dual Dante connection, and are powered via PoE.

AoIP INTERFACES - Analogue audio inputs and outputs

AVN-AIO8

Designed for broadcast, live production, and professional AV environments, AVN-AI08 provides a cost-effective solution for transporting low-latency audio between analogue and Dante network domains. The unit incorporates dual RJ45 1Gb/s Ethernet ports that accepts both power and data to the connected Dante or Ravenna network. These ports, designated primary and secondary, can be configured in redundant mode to provide full network redundancy where infrastructure allows. In this configuration, the unit seamlessly switches from primary to secondary, ensuring continuous audio and power in the event of a link loss or switch failure. The ports can also operate in switched mode, enabling daisy-chaining from the secondary port (data only) to an additional unit. This can reduce cabling requirements in some installations. It should be noted that power is not passed through, and daisy-chained units require their own power supply.

An additional USB-C input is provided as an alternative DC power source where PoE is unavailable. The rear panel includes a threaded hole for securing single/top locking USB-C cables, ensuring a reliable DC connection. For standard USB-C cables, a cable clamp is also fitted to provide strain relief to prevent accidental disconnection. Front panel status and confidence LEDs provide clear indication of PoE status, network link, and clock synchronisation, allowing for diagnostics at a glance, and system monitoring. A recessed front panel switch enables global 0dBFS line-up selection between +12dBu, +18dBu, and +24dBu, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of professional audio equipment.

Configuration and routing are managed via Dante Controller or ANEMAN depending on Dante or Ravenna protocol model employed.

All analogue audio connections are provided via Neutrik XLR or terminal connectors - depending on model. AVN-AIO8 is housed in a durable 1U, 19-inch rack-mount aluminium chassis, making it suitable for both fixed installations and mobile rack systems. AVN-AIORK accessory is available to allow the unit to be rack-mounted with its rear panel facing forward, providing convenient access to all connections. This alternative mounting solution is ideal for setups where frequent cable changes or connection monitoring are required.

AoIP INTERFACES - Digital audio inputs and outputs

AVN-AESIO8

AVN-AESI08 models have been designed for professional audio environments where reliable, low-latency transport between digital and networked systems is required - such as broadcast studios, live production and events, OB trucks, and fixed AV installations such as corporate, education, and hospitality spaces. It can also integrate into houses of worship and recording studios, providing flexible, high-quality connectivity between traditional digital equipment and Dante/Ravenna-based audio networks.

The unit incorporates dual RJ45 1Gb/s Ethernet ports that accepts both power and data to the connected Dante or Ravenna network. These ports, designated primary and secondary, can be configured in redundant mode to provide full network redundancy where infrastructure allows. In this configuration, the unit 'seamlessly' switches from primary to secondary, ensuring continuous audio and power in the event of a link loss or switch failure. The rear facing panel includes a threaded hole for securing single/top locking USB-C cables, ensuring a robust DC connection. For standard USB-C cables, a cable clamp is also fitted to provide strain relief to prevent accidental disconnection.

Configuration and routing are managed via Dante Controller or ANEMAN depending on Dante or Ravenna protocol model employed.

All AES3 audio connections are provided via either Neutrik 3-pin XLR connectors or terminal block connectors depending on model selected; with each input can accepting sample rates from 32kHz to 192kHz. This will in turn be converted to the Dante or Ravenna system sample rate. A valid input signal is confirmed by front panel AES3 lock LEDs for each input. All outputs follow the Dante or Ravenna system sample rate. Front panel status and confidence LEDs provide clear indication of lock, PoE status, network link, and clock synchronisation, allowing for diagnostics and system monitoring.

The unit is a 1U, 19-inch rack-mount product constructed from aluminium. AVN-AIORK accessory is available to allow the unit to be rack-mounted with its rear panel facing forward, providing convenient access to all connections. This alternative mounting solution is ideal for setups where frequent cable changes or connection monitoring are required.
