SignalLED - 200mm, 400mm, and 2x 200mm
Sonifex's SignalLed range of illuminated RGB LED signs are designed for use in broadcast and recording studios, or any application where visual reference to a current status is required. Because the sign itself contains the control electronics, and RGB LEDs are used, the signs can be simply configured on site for particular requirements, using an optional remote control. For ease of use, as standard, they are configured in standard colours (further details in the Configuration chart - Sonifex Signalled Illuminated Signs). Using the optional remote control, they may be configured in one of eight other colours. 'Twin' types may be configured as two separate signs.
Both single and twin signs are supplied, as standard, so that they can be mounted flush to a wall. However, optional mounting kits available are: LD-KE1 - enables the sign to be installed perpendicular to a wall (end-mounting), for example above a door or mounting kit, LD-KC1 - enables the sign to be mounted to the ceiling. A special end-mounting installation tool, the LD-IT, is available for use with the LD-KE1 end-mount kit, to allow the sign to be temporarily mounted to the wall whilst still allowing access to the power and signal wiring, thus saving an extra pair of hands to simply hold the sign in place.
SignalLEDs can be controlled by either, or both, of two pull-low inputs. For example, a single input can be used to control a single 'MIC LIVE' sign, or two inputs can be used to control a twin 'TX' and 'REH' sign with independent control of each side of the sign. If an alternative Colour or Display Mode is required, then they must be programmed using an optional LD-RPC remote control, suitable for use on any number of signs. The DC input and control-signal cables route through an integral cable clamp and connect to a screw-terminal block.
Each sign is 200mm or 400mm long. The 400mm signs are available both as single and twin-display types. The twin signs are split into two 200mm sides with separate or joint control. For example, a twin unit could combine 'ON AIR' and 'MIC LIVE' in one sign. Versions with prefix of "LD" (DC 5-7V) are supplied complete with a plug-in power supply with attached outlet cable. The standard plug-top power supply supplied has a fixed 2m lead and also includes a 3m DC extension. Models with prefix of "LDD" are not supplied with a power supply. "LDD" versions have been designed for use with 7-36V DC power input, convenient for those using 12-24V network power distribution units.
Custom text versions (51-645/51-647/51-646/51-648), which can include alternative wording, including other languages are also available to order on a special basis. Based on an example font of 'Switzerland Condensed Black', Sonifex recommend a single line of up to 5x 120point characters, or two lines of up to 7x 90point characters on a 200mm sign. For 400mm custom signs, Sonifex recommend a single line of up to 9x 170point characters or two lines of up to 15x 100point characters. Longer words at a reduced font size can be considered. Please include your required custom text in the specified field when placing an order.
Power input: 5-7V DC, 500mA maximum, (400mm sign), LD- versions; 7-36V DC, LDD- versions. Input connector: 4-way, screw-terminal block. Control inputs: 2x pull-down to 0V. Perspex dimensions (HxW): 80 x 200mm, LD-20; 80 x 400mm, LD-40.

AVN-GPIO - GPIO to LAN transceiver
AVN-GPIO is part of Sonifex's AVN range of network interface boxes, and it has been designed to convert GPIO (General Purpose Inputs and Outputs) to network commands. This is particularly useful when a user wishes to control equipment such as SignalLEDs across a standard network.
With 10 configurable GPIO’s, 8 of which can be used for PTP based programming, together with a relay, AVN-GPIO can trigger or be triggered by other Sonifex devices on the network using virtual GPIO without the need for extra wiring. Units can either be interfaced together across a network, or the user can employ Ember+ and UDP commands to accept commands from, or drive, the AVN-GPIO. Housed in a 'rugged' aluminium box and powered by PoE, AVN-GPIO is a PTP (Precision Time Protocol) enabled device. IEEE1588-2008 PTPv2 is employed to keep a hardware clock in sync with a PTP master, such as the AVN-GMCS
grandmaster clock, to achieve a sub 10 nanosecond synchronisation to the master reference. This means that the AVN-GPIO can be used to accurately timestamp input events and to trigger outputs at configured times.
Sonifex AVN-GPIO supports default and AES67 media profiles, whilst also providing a custom profile which can be configured by the user. It is configured via a built-in webserver to allow the configuration of PTP as well as live monitoring of its status. A GPIO routing webpage is provided which allows physical, timed, and virtual inputs to be routed to physical, timed, and virtual outputs.
